Pakistan’s cricketers Saim Ayub and Agha Salman have climbed the ICC ODI rankings following their exceptional performances in the recent 3-0 series victory against South Africa.
Saim Ayub, who earned the Player of the Series title, surged 57 places to secure the 23rd spot with 603 points. The young batter’s consistent performance, including two centuries in the series, has solidified his status as a rising star in international cricket.
Vice-captain Agha Salman also made notable progress, moving up 28 spots to claim the 80th position with 468 points, thanks to his key contributions with the bat.
Meanwhile, Pakistan’s skipper Babar Azam retained his position as the world’s top-ranked ODI batter for the fourth consecutive year. Despite facing recent form challenges, Babar reaffirmed his dominance with two half-centuries in the series.

Other Pakistani players also saw ranking shifts. Mohammad Rizwan climbed to 21st in ODI batting, while Naseem Shah advanced to 51st in bowling. Shaheen Afridi, however, dropped to third in the ODI bowling rankings, overtaken by India’s Kuldeep Yadav.
As the ICC Champions Trophy approaches, Pakistan’s rising talents and seasoned players are preparing to showcase their skills in a promising cricket season ahead.
