Saudi Arabia Makes History with World’s First Robotic Heart Transplant

Source: Dunya News

Saudi Arabia has achieved a medical milestone by completing the world’s first fully robotic heart transplant at King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Centre (KFSHRC). The innovative surgery was performed on a 16-year-old patient with end-stage heart failure, marking a major breakthrough in cardiac surgery.

Led by Dr. Feras Khaliel, the two-and-a-half-hour procedure was carefully planned using virtual simulations to ensure precision. This advanced technique avoided opening the patient’s chest, significantly reducing the risks associated with traditional heart transplant surgeries.
