Balochistan Awami Party (BAP) Senator Anwar ul Haq Kakar has assumed the pivotal role of interim prime minister in Pakistan. In a strategic move to ensure the continuity of governance until the next government is elected, Kakar has been entrusted with the responsibility of steering the nation through this transitional phase.

The long-awaited decision culminated from a productive meeting between Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and outgoing Opposition Leader in the National Assembly, Raja Riaz, in the capital city of Islamabad. This consensus was underlined in an official statement released by the Prime Minister’s Office.

The subsequent step involved forwarding the recommendation for Kakar’s appointment as the interim prime minister to President Arif Alvi. Swiftly thereafter, President Alvi extended his approval, solidifying Kakar’s position in this significant role.
