Bollywood fans were on the edge of their seats when news broke out about a potential collaboration between the King of Bollywood, Shah Rukh Khan, and the Hollywood heartthrob, Leonardo DiCaprio, in the action-packed gangster movie titled ‘Xtreme City’.

In a previous interview, Shah Rukh Khan disclosed that he had been offered several movie opportunities in the West, but none of them managed to pique his interest. However, ‘Xtreme City’ seemed to be the exception, as it brought together an intriguing combination of talent.
Reports suggested that the meeting between Shah Rukh Khan, Leonardo DiCaprio, and acclaimed director Martin Scorsese took place during the Berlin Film Festival in 2011. The trio discussed the possibility of collaborating on ‘Xtreme City’, thanks to the efforts of Hollywood producer David Weisman, writer Paul Schrader, and Bollywood screenwriter Mushtaq Shiekh.

What were the roles?
In this supposed action thriller, Leonardo DiCaprio was slated to portray the role of a determined cop, while Shah Rukh Khan would have portrayed the enigmatic gangster. However, despite the promising potential of the project, ‘Xtreme City’ never materialized, and both actors remained tight-lipped about the shelved venture.
Although the world may never get to witness the much-anticipated pairing of Shah Rukh Khan and Leonardo DiCaprio on the silver screen, fans will continue to hold on to the hope that destiny might someday bring these two cinematic giants together in a future project.
