Former Pakistan cricket captain, Shahid Afridi, provided a detailed analysis of Pakistan’s recent cricket match against India, shedding light on their decision to bowl after winning the toss and expressing his concerns regarding his son-in-law and fast bowler, Shaheen Shah Afridi’s performance.

In an exclusive interview with a local media news channel, Afridi delved into the strategic aspects of the game and the challenges faced by bowlers in the modern era of cricket.

Shahid Afridi’s analysis of Pakistan vs India match

Afridi commenced the discussion by addressing the widely debated decision of Pakistan to choose to bowl first. He remarked, “Many people on social media questioned why Pakistan chose to bowl first after winning the toss. In my opinion, if Pakistan had bowled properly, as Naseem Shah started off, the outcome might have been different. However, Shaheen’s line and length were not up to par in the match, leading to dissatisfaction. In the initial overs, if Shaheen failed to secure wickets, it could become frustrating for him given his reputation for early breakthroughs.”

Continuing his analysis, Afridi emphasized the need for consistency in Shaheen’s bowling, stating, “Shaheen needs to be consistent in his line and length. A few off-target deliveries should not lead to frustration. He must find the right areas to bowl. It is not always guaranteed that wickets will fall immediately. By maintaining the right line and length, the chances of taking wickets increase, especially with the new ball.”
