After Shahid Afridi, Shoaib Akhtar Likely To Take Charge As Pakistan’s New Chief Selector

Recently, former Pakistani cricketer Shahid Afridi’s limited tenure as the interim chief selector for the Pakistan men’s cricket team ended abruptly. The decision was made and acted upon after Pakistan lost the three-match One Day International (ODI) series against New Zealand last week.

Shoaib Akhtar Pakistan’s new chief selector?

Well, as per the news doing rounds on social media, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is now considering the legendary speedster Shoaib Akhtar to head the selection committee and become the next chief selector for the Pakistan cricket team.

However, no official announcement has been made yet. As of now, there have been no official sources to confirm the spreading news, plus neither PCB nor Shoaib Akhtar has commented on the matter.

Previously, after assuming charge of PCB Chairman, Najam Sethi appointed Shahid Afridi as Pakistan’s chief selector but things didn’t go well for him. Now, cricket fans are excited to see if Shoaib Akhtar will be the right choice.
