In yet another eerie instance of life imitating art, a prediction from the beloved animated series “The Simpsons” has once again manifested in reality.
The “radioactive” fine dining
Japan’s Prime Minister, Fumio Kishida, made headlines by consuming fish caught off the coast of Fukushima to allay public concerns about the safety of seafood amidst an ongoing dispute over the release of radioactive water.
The scene uncannily resembles an episode from the show’s second season, where the fictional character Mr. Burns is offered a three-eyed fish born from radioactive contamination. Kishida and his ministers dined on a spread of sashimi featuring flounder, octopus, and sea bass from Fukushima, asserting its safety and delectable flavor.
