The Sindh government has launched an investigation after the alleged theft of paintings from Karachi’s historic Frere Hall came to light. The incident gained widespread attention when the missing artwork of artist Seffy Soomro unexpectedly appeared in the TV drama Kabhi Mein Kabhi Tum. Soomro’s paintings, which had vanished years ago after being displayed at Frere Hall, were recently spotted in the show’s scenes, sparking outrage on social media.

In response, Sindh’s Minister for Culture and Tourism, Syed Zulfiqar Ali Shah, formed a two-member committee, including the Director General of Culture and the Director General of Antiquities, to thoroughly investigate the matter. The committee is tasked with presenting a detailed report on the missing artwork.
