Sindh Government To Fund Prosthetic Leg For Mutilated Camel: Murad Ali Shah

In a compassionate response to recent animal cruelty incidents, Secretary of Livestock Kazim Jatoi visited the Comprehensive Disaster Response Services (CDRS) animal shelter in Karachi.

This visit, directed by Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah, was prompted by the mutilation of a camel in Mund Jamrao village, Sanghar district. A local magistrate has since remanded six suspects into police custody for their alleged involvement in the brutal act.

The camel, which had its right leg chopped off by a landlord as punishment for foraging in his field, is now under treatment at CDRS. In addition to the camel, an injured donkey has also been transported to Karachi for medical care, following the chief minister’s directives.

The Sindh government has pledged to cover the treatment costs for both animals, and PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari is arranging for a prosthetic leg for the camel from Dubai.

Secretary Jatoi confirmed the camel’s leg is healing and mentioned that an x-ray will be conducted on the donkey’s leg to determine further treatment.
