Sindh Governor Kamran Tessori has announced a grand fireworks display at the Governor House to celebrate New Year’s Eve, with the aim of fostering unity and joy among the people of Karachi.
In an unprecedented move, Tessori declared that all five gates of the Governor House would remain open to the public during the event, encouraging collective celebration. The highlight of the evening will be a spectacular 40-minute fireworks show, which is being planned to break an international record.
“We want to share the joy of the new year with everyone,” Tessori stated, adding his prayers for 2024 to bring peace, stability, economic prosperity, and welfare to Pakistan. The event, scheduled for December 31, is expected to attract a large crowd.

To ensure public safety during the celebrations, the Karachi city administration has imposed Section 144 for December 31 and January 1. The restrictions include bans on aerial firing, firecrackers, and the display of weapons. Commissioner Karachi, Syed Hasan Naqvi, emphasized strict enforcement, with violators facing legal consequences.
