The Supreme Court of Pakistan has announced that it will be taking its summer vacation from 15th June 2023 to 11th September 2023. This decision is applicable to both the principal seat in Islamabad and the provincial branch registries. However, the court has made it clear that urgent cases will continue to be heard during the vacations.
Open to urgent cases
The summer vacations of the Supreme Court are an annual tradition, which provides an opportunity for judges, lawyers, and staff to take a break from the hectic schedules of the court. This period also allows for the maintenance and renovation of the court building and its facilities.

Despite the vacations, the court will remain open to urgent cases, which include matters related to human rights violations, election disputes, and cases involving the government. The court’s commitment to hearing urgent cases during the vacation period reflects its dedication to providing swift and efficient justice to the people of Pakistan.
