The Great Indian Kapil Show, hosted by Kapil Sharma, has come under fire after receiving a legal notice for allegedly insulting Nobel laureate Rabindranath Tagore and hurting the religious sentiments of the Bengali community. The notice, dated November 1, was issued by Dr. Mondal, President of the Bongo Bhashi Mahasabha Foundation (BBMF), through legal advisor Nripendra Krishna Roy.
The complaint highlights specific acts on the show as disrespectful to Tagore and offensive to the cultural and religious values of Bengalis worldwide. The BBMF has called for accountability from the makers of the show. The show’s producers defended its intent, emphasizing that it is meant to be satirical and not targeted at any individual or community.
Separately, rumors suggested that Salman Khan’s production house, SKTV, had also been served a legal notice. However, Salman Khan’s legal team clarified that neither he nor his production house is associated with The Great Indian Kapil Show, adding that these claims are baseless.
