TikTok, the popular short-form video app, has rolled out new features that aim to promote a healthier digital experience for families and teens. The new features include custom daily screen times, a screen time dashboard and the ability to mute notifications.
Custom daily screen times
This feature allows parents to set a specific amount of time that their child can spend on TikTok each day. This helps parents to manage their child’s screen time and ensure that they are not spending too much time on the app.
Screen time dashboard
The screen time dashboard provides an overview of the amount of time that a user has spent on the app over the past seven days. This feature can help users to be more mindful of their screen time and make adjustments if necessary.
Muting notifications
This is another new feature that can help promote a healthier digital experience. This feature enables parents to set a schedule to mute notifications for their children. Adhering to the policy, Tik Tok accounts aged 13-15 already do not receive push notifications from 9 pm and accounts aged 16-17 have push notifications disabled from 10 pm.
