In recent news, Ayesha Akram, a TikToker who was assaulted by a mob at Greater Iqbal Park in Lahore on August 14, 2021, has withdrawn her complaint in the Minar-e-Pakistan harassment case. The incident gained national attention after videos of the attack went viral, prompting both the Prime Minister and the Chief Minister of Punjab to demand swift action.
Back in 2021, the Lari Adda Police Station registered a case, and at least 92 suspects were arrested by the Punjab Police. However, Ayesha recently decided to withdraw her complaint and presented an affidavit in the Lahore Sessions Court, stating her intention not to pursue the case further.
The hearing was presided over by Additional Sessions Judge Gul Abbas. Ayesha declared, “I have forgiven all the accused for the sake of Allah and His Messenger’s approval. I have no objection to the acquittal of the accused. I am freely and voluntarily recording my statement without any fear.”

Aamir Sohail, also known as Rambo, and twelve other accused have applied for acquittal. The court has scheduled a hearing on August 26th to review these applications and Ayesha’s statement.
The event sparked considerable public anger and sparked extensive conversations on social media, with certain people even calling it a deliberate attempt to gain attention.
