Following a deadly attack on the Turkish Aerospace Industries (TUSAS) headquarters in Ankara, Turkey imposed restrictions on major social media platforms on Wednesday. The incident, which left five people dead and over 20 injured, led authorities to temporarily restrict access to platforms like X, Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, and TikTok.
The restrictions were confirmed by NetBlocks, a global internet observatory focused on cybersecurity and digital governance. In a post on X, NetBlocks stated, “Confirmed: Live metrics show social media platforms including X, Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, and TikTok have been restricted in #Turkey.”
