Turkish Protesters Chant’ No Zionism’ as Israeli Ship Docks in Istanbul

Source: Dialogue Pakistan

Hundreds of pro-P@lestinian protesters gathered at Istanbul’s Port of Ambarlı on Thursday to oppose the docking of vessels from the Isr@eli shipping company ZIM. The demonstrators, waving P@lestinian flags, chanted, “No Zionism in our ports” as they protested the presence of the Isr@eli ship at the major harbor on the Sea of Marmara.

Although Turkey officially cut trade ties with Isr@el, reports indicate that trade between the two countries still continues, fueling public discontent. Videos shared on social media showed protesters breaking through barricades while chanting anti-Zionist slogans as security guards tried to stop them.

As tensions escalated, a security officer fired warning shots into the air to control the situation. The police soon intervened and prevented protesters from reaching the ZIM containers, bringing the situation under control.
