In an unexpected turn of events, singer-turned-actor Umair Jaswal has decided to back off from the most-anticipated biopic based on former Pakistani speedster Shoaib Akhtar.
Taking to Twitter, on Wednesday, the actor shared the latest news with his followers calling it due to “creative and personal reasons”. However, he did not reveal any further details as to what forced him to part ways from the project.
Here’s the official tweet from Umair Jaswal’s Twitter:
Due to creative and personal reasons I have decided to step away from the Shoaib Akhtar biopic project RAWALPINDI EXPRESS. I will no longer be associated with any media or news related to this project.
Wishing everyone involved all the best. pic.twitter.com/JT2ZwEQYPE— Umair Jaswal (@umairjaswal) January 4, 2023
The question is that who will now take Umair Jaswal’s place as a lead in the first foreign film about a Pakistani sportsman? Well, no one knows.
Rawalpindi Express is scheduled to release in theatres on November 16th, 2023.
