Unicef Appoints Saba Qamar as First National Ambassador for Child Rights in Pakistan

Unicef has officially appointed renowned actress Saba Qamar as its first National Ambassador for Child Rights in Pakistan. The announcement was made on International Day of the Girl Child, a day dedicated to advocating for girls’ rights and acknowledging the challenges they face worldwide.

“It’s an honor to join Unicef. I will echo our shared mission of achieving every right for every child wherever I am,” Qamar stated. She emphasized her commitment to advocating for children’s rights and addressing the pressing issues faced by young people in Pakistan, such as child marriage, education, mental health, and gender equality.

In her new role, the Kamli star will use her platform to raise awareness on key issues, aiming to protect children from violence, exploitation, and child poverty.

Unicef Representative in Pakistan, Abdullah Fadil, welcomed Qamar to the organization, recognizing her as a strong advocate for women’s and girls’ rights. Together, they aim to tackle the critical challenges that impact the lives of children across the country.
