Source: Mint/Dawn

Legendary fast bowler Wasim Akram has sparked controversy by calling for a complete overhaul of the Pakistan cricket team following their disheartening performance in the ongoing T20 World Cup.

Pakistan, led by Babar Azam, suffered a second consecutive defeat after falling short by six runs against arch-rivals India last Sunday. Akram expressed his disappointment, particularly with senior players like Iftikhar Ahmed and Muhammad Rizwan, criticizing their lack of game awareness and tendency to play risky shots.

Wasim Akram further alluded to a potential rift within the team, hinting at tension between captain Babar Azam and pace spearhead Shaheen Afridi.

In a strong statement, Akram urged the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) to retain the coaching staff and instead focus on replacing the entire playing squad. He believes this drastic measure is necessary to address the team’s lack of form and ensure future success.
