Woman Driver Responsible for Fatal Karsaz Road Accident Sent to Jail On 14-Day Judicial Remand

Source: Dawn

Natasha Danish, involved in the deadly Karsaz Road accident, has been placed under a 14-day judicial remand. This follows a tragic event on August 19, which resulted in two fatalities and four injuries.

On that day, Natasha, who is married to Danish Ali Mohammed, Chairman of GulAhmed Energy Power Ltd, was driving a Toyota Land Cruiser SUV owned by Gul Ahmed Windpower Ltd. The SUV veered out of control, hitting several motorcycles and a car. The crash killed Imran Arif and his daughter, Amna Arif, and left four others severely injured.

Witnesses reported that Natasha’s SUV was speeding uncontrollably, running over motorcycles before finally stopping near Kangri House. Natasha, allegedly under the influence of alcohol or drugs, tried to flee but was stopped by the crowd and handed over to the police.

The vehicle involved was registered to Gul Ahmed Windpower Ltd, with the registration number BY-0033. Natasha, who holds a British driving license, was initially examined at Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre. Although her lawyer claimed she was mentally distressed, the medical report later confirmed she was in stable condition.

Adding to the controversy, Natasha appeared in court wearing an abaya with her face covered, although she was seen in jeans and a t-shirt at the accident scene. This has raised doubts about whether the person brought to court was truly Natasha.

The case has sparked significant public outcry and scrutiny, particularly regarding the influence of high-profile families on legal proceedings. The Express Tribune removed three posts about the accident, leading to accusations of media bias.
