Punjab Police is reportedly preparing for a significant operation at Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan’s residence in Zaman Park, Lahore.
According to sources, the police aim to apprehend “30-40 terrorists” who are believed to be hiding there after their alleged involvement in the May 9 riots.
The 24-hour ultimatum
In response to the situation, Punjab Interim Information Minister Amir Mir issued a 24-hour ultimatum to Imran Khan, demanding the surrender of the alleged individuals. With the deadline now expired, the police have blocked all roads leading to Zaman Park and deployed a substantial law enforcement presence in the area, hinting at an imminent “grand operation.”
The capital city police officer (CCPO) has instructed their personnel to maintain high vigilance. During a recent press conference, Mir claimed that the residence of the former prime minister had become a hideout for the alleged terrorists.
