Speaking at a press conference in Rawalpindi, Azhar Mahmood disclosed that even the esteemed captain, Babar Azam, might find himself on the sidelines as part of a rotation policy to optimize the team’s performance and refine its combination. Depending on situational demands, the coach emphasized that every player, including the captain, could be replaced during the five-match series.
The team’s opening pair remains a mystery with Mahmood revealing that a final decision is yet to be reached. The possibilities are wide open, ranging from the tried and tested Babar-Saim combination to the potential of Saim-Rizwan or even Fakhar Zaman stepping up to open the innings.
