Pakistan’s captain, Babar Azam, is on the cusp of etching his name in the history books of T20 International cricket. In the upcoming four-match series against England starting tomorrow, Azam has a golden opportunity to become the highest run-scorer in the format’s history.

Currently, Indian batsman Virat Kohli holds the record with 4,037 runs in 109 innings. Azam, who sits at number three on the list with 3,955 runs, needs just 83 more to surpass Kohli.

The upcoming England series presents a prime opportunity for the Pakistani captain to achieve this feat and become the first batter from his nation to score 4,000 runs in T20 Internationals.

Azam’s impressive form goes beyond this potential record. He is already the most successful captain in T20Is with 46 victories and holds the record for most runs scored as captain (2,452). With just 48 more runs in this role, he can become the first captain to reach 2,500 runs.

The highly anticipated T20I series between Pakistan and England kicks off on May 22nd at Headingley, Leeds, with the final match scheduled for May 30th at The Oval, London.
