Babar Azam Becomes Second Batsman In T20I History To Score More Than 10 Centuries

Babar Azam’s sensational performance in the ongoing Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2024 has made him the second player in T20i history to hit more than ten centuries after Chris Gayle. The captain of Peshawar Zalmi has been in remarkable form lately, leading his team from the front.

Babar Azam or T20i century machine?

After his comeback to form in the last five-match T20I series against New Zealand, Babar Azam has taken his performance to another level in the PSL 2024. The batter slammed his first hundred in this year’s edition against Islamabad United where he scored 111 off just 63 balls, laced with 14 fours and two sixes.

With this century, Babar Azam has now hit a total of 11 centuries in T20 cricket, making him the only batter after Chris Gayle to achieve this feat. Gayle, who has struck 22 hundred in his T20 career is the only other player to have hit more than 10 tons in the shortest format.

Babar Azam’s remarkable form in the PSL 2024 has been a treat for cricket fans, as he has scored 330 runs in the season so far, at an average of 82.5 and a strike rate of 151.37. He has also hit two fifties along with his century.

The right-handed batter has been a part of 284 T20 matches, scoring more than 10,000 runs, including 11 hundreds and 84 fifties. His consistency and class have made him one of the best batters in the world, and his recent performances have only added to his reputation.
