Amidst the relentless surge of inflation, the caretaker government has once again dealt a heavy blow to the wallets of the common people.

Petrol price reach record high

In its latest fortnightly review, the government decided to increase the price of petrol by a staggering Rs26.02 per litre and high-speed diesel (HSD) by Rs17.34 per litre. This move has pushed the price of one litre of petrol to an eye-watering Rs331.38 and HSD to Rs329.18, reaching historic highs.

The Finance Ministry justifies this painful hike by citing the escalating oil prices in the international market. It’s a harsh reality that governments worldwide grapple with the volatility of global oil prices, and this burden often trickles down to the citizens.

This is the second such increase within a single month, compounding the financial woes of ordinary people who are already struggling to make ends meet in an era of soaring prices. As the populace grapples with the repercussions of this decision, it underscores the pressing need for sustainable solutions to curb inflation and provide relief to the public.
