Social media personality Kashif Rana, known by his alias Chahat Fateh Ali Khan, is facing potential legal action for allegedly defaming the legacy of legendary Pakistani singer Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan.
A legal notice seeking damages of Rs.180 million was issued to Rana’s UK residence. The notice accuses him of tarnishing Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan’s reputation through off-key singing and false claims of being related to the deceased artist.

The notice, sent by Mian Muhammad Umair Niaz on behalf of Qaiser Munir Khan, states that Rana’s singing has offended residents of Faisalabad, Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan’s hometown. It further alleges copyright violations and demands a public apology on social media within 15 days.
Failure to comply will reportedly result in a defamation lawsuit filed in court.
