The Indian Cricket Team’s participation in the upcoming ICC Champions Trophy 2025, scheduled to be held in Pakistan, is under question. According to a report by Indian media, it is highly unlikely that India will travel to Pakistan for the tournament.

The final decision rests with the Indian government, as cited by sources close to the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). The PCB, however, plans to raise this issue at the forthcoming ICC meeting in Sri Lanka this month.

This development comes amidst a history of limited cricketing exchanges between India and Pakistan. Since 2008, the Indian team hasn’t toured Pakistan, playing only a single bilateral series there in 2012-13.

The 2023 Asia Cup, originally planned for Pakistan, was held in a hybrid format, with India’s matches played in Sri Lanka. The PCB’s draft schedule for the Champions Trophy allocates seven matches to Lahore, including a potential India-Pakistan encounter at the Gaddafi Stadium on March 1st.
