Chinese Businessman Wang Feiqi Converts to Islam During Visit to Afghanistan

Source: Dialogue Pakistan

Wang Feiqi, a Chinese businessman involved in construction projects in Afghanistan, has embraced Islam after reciting the shahada in the presence of officials from Balkh province. Following his conversion, he adopted the name Abdullah Muhammad, as reported by Afghan media.

Wang, who worked closely with Afghan government officials, developed an interest in Islam through his interactions. This curiosity led him to study the religion further and eventually embrace it. Afghan officials warmly welcomed his decision and offered prayers for his future endeavors.

This is not the first instance of a foreigner converting to Islam in Afghanistan. In August, an American tourist named Andreas converted after engaging with Afghan officials at a checkpoint in Maidan Wardak province. Similarly, in 2007, two U.S. soldiers stationed at Bagram Air Base converted to Islam and later married in Afghanistan.

Such conversions highlight how cultural exchanges and personal experiences in Afghanistan often lead to a deeper understanding and acceptance of Islam. Abdullah Muhammad’s story is another example of how interactions with Afghan communities can inspire individuals from different backgrounds to embrace the faith.
