In a rare medical case, a one-year-old baby in Shanghai, China was found to have an undeveloped twin inside their brain. The condition, known as “fetus in fetu,” occurs when a twin becomes enveloped within the body of its sibling during early development.

The fetus was discovered during a brain scan after the baby’s parents noticed their child’s head was growing at an abnormal rate. The baby underwent successful surgery to remove the undeveloped twin, and doctors say the child is recovering well.
