Following the tragic killing of two Chinese citizens in a suicide attack near Karachi’s Jinnah International Airport on Sunday, China has issued a travel advisory for its nationals.

According to a report by the South China Morning Post on Tuesday, the Chinese government has advised its citizens not to visit Pakistan’s two western provinces, citing security concerns.

The incident, which occurred in the vicinity of one of Pakistan’s busiest airports, highlights the increasing risks posed to Chinese nationals in the country, where they are often targeted in acts of violence.

The attack headlines broader concerns about the safety of Chinese citizens in Pakistan, especially in areas where China is heavily involved in infrastructure projects like the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).

In its advisory, China urged its citizens to remain vigilant and avoid unnecessary travel to Pakistan’s western provinces, where the security situation remains volatile.

This advisory is seen as a precautionary measure to ensure the safety of Chinese workers and tourists, particularly in regions where separatist and militant groups are active. The tragedy has further strained Pakistan’s efforts to safeguard foreign nationals amid ongoing security challenges.
