Students in Lahore continue to protest following allegations of rape on a college campus. Demonstrations intensified on Tuesday, with students staging an anti-harassment rally a day after protests on two campuses of the Punjab College for Women. The provincial government has since shut down the college.

The protests erupted after reports surfaced online claiming that a security guard raped a student in a campus basement. While police initially dismissed the claims, they later confirmed that a guard was in custody and an investigation was underway.

College officials stated that no formal complaint had been filed and that CCTV footage showed no evidence of the incident. However, students demand an independent investigation, including the involvement of human rights organizations and student representatives.

Despite the college’s closure, students have vowed to continue protesting until safety is ensured on campuses. “Shut the campus down. Hang that guard here,” one student declared at the rally.
