The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced a significant change in its selection policy, placing emphasis on domestic cricket performance for national team prospects. Chairman PCB, Mohsin Naqvi, led a crucial meeting aimed at strengthening domestic cricket.

Following the meeting, PCB officials confirmed that players must participate in domestic tournaments to be considered for national selection.

The new policy prioritizes performance, fitness, and merit. Selection will be based solely on a player’s performance and fitness showcased in domestic events. This move aims to ensure that only the most in-form and physically capable players represent Pakistan.

Chairman Naqvi emphasized the importance of quality domestic cricket at all levels. He announced plans for consistently organized tournaments across the country, from the grassroots club level to the national stage.

Additionally, the PCB will invest in the professional grooming of promising players by providing them with top-tier coaching to refine their skills.
