Dubai, the city of ambitious dreams, has unveiled plans to construct the world’s biggest airport terminal at a staggering cost of $34.8 billion. This colossal project at Al Maktoum International Airport aims to not only dethrone Dubai International Airport (DXB) but fully absorb its operations within a decade.

Dubai’s million-dollar bet on the future of flight

The brainchild of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, Dubai’s ruler, this new terminal boasts a mind-blowing passenger capacity of 260 million – five times the size of DXB, currently the world leader in international traffic. Imagine a sprawling airport city with 400 aircraft gates, five parallel runways, and the ability to handle a staggering 12 million tonnes of cargo annually.
