In recent news, Tech titan Elon Musk’s Tesla is locked in a legal battle with an Indian company, also called Tesla. This Indian Tesla, known as Tesla Power, manufactures lead-acid batteries, not the sleek electric vehicles synonymous with Musk’s brand.

Apparently, Tesla Power in India has been using its name for some time now, and according to Elon Musk’s Tesla, it’s causing confusion.
According to reports, they even sent a cease-and-desist notice last year, but Tesla Power insists they’ve been around longer, have all the necessary approvals, and never claimed any connection to Elon Musk’s empire.
This lawsuit adds another layer to the ongoing saga of Tesla’s entry into the Indian market. Moreover, Elon Musk’s visit to meet Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi was also canceled recently, which further fueled speculation about tensions.

Not backing down, India’s Tesla Power claimed they’re pioneers in affordable batteries, a market segment crucial for electric vehicle adoption. Time will tell how things will pan out but one thing’s for sure, the Delhi High Court will have its hands full untangling this web of Teslas.
