Equipment Worth Millions Stolen From Government Hospital In Karachi

The Advance Trauma Centre at Sindh Government Hospital in Liaquatabad, Karachi suffered a major setback to patient care when essential parts of a CT scan machine were stolen. As per media reports, the stolen equipment included wiring, circuits, UPS, batteries, and other crucial components, amounts to a value of over Rs.10 million.

This theft has severely impacted hospital operations, with patients now requiring referral to other facilities for CT scans. Adding to the concern, sources reveal that an investigation launched into the incident has reportedly been halted by unidentified influential figures.

In a separate incident, last week, Karachi Civil Hospital apprehended a fake doctor who was found roaming the Trauma Centre dressed in a doctor’s gown. The man, identified as Abdullah, reportedly confessed to a childhood dream of becoming a medical professional but lacked the necessary qualifications.

He impersonated a doctor to fulfill this desire but was exposed by security guards due to his young appearance and unusual hairstyle. Abdullah is now under police custody.
