Over the last few days, the nation has witnessed some of the most influential personalities from Pakistani politics getting arrested due to their immense criticism of the current ruling party, the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM).
In a similar occurrence, earlier today, reports started coming in that the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has arrested anchorperson Imran Riaz Khan over his previous controversial remarks regarding the PMLN-led government.
Imran Riaz Khan caught again over controversial remarks
The journalist was detained at Allama Iqbal International Airport in Lahore as he was preparing to leave for the United Arab Emirates (UAE). As per the latest details, Imran Riaz Khan will be brought before the court later today.
The action was taken hours after Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI)’s senior leader Sheikh Rasheed Ahmad was arrested by Rawalpindi police from Islamabad. Soon after the journalist was arrested, PTI’s Asad Umar wrote on Twitter that innocent are behind bars while the ‘terrorists are roaming freely’.

Well, this is the second time in a few months that Imran Riaz Khan has been arrested before he could board his flight. Not only Khan but last month PTI leader Fawad Chaudhry was also detained from his residence in Islamabad on sedition charges.
Fawad Chaudhry was released a week later.
