Lahore’s iconic Gaddafi Stadium is set for a significant makeover to match the standards of Dubai’s cricket stadium. This ambitious project, undertaken by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), aims to elevate the spectator experience and modernize facilities ahead of Pakistan’s hosting of the Champions Trophy in early 2025.

Plans include a complete remodel to provide unobstructed views for all spectators, similar to the Dubai Cricket Stadium. This will involve moving hospitality boxes closer to the ground and potentially increasing seating capacity in key areas like the Imran Khan and Fazal Mahmood enclosures.

Additionally, a large screen may be installed to further enhance the match-day atmosphere.

Further improvements involve optimizing space for spectators. The current boardroom building within the stadium will be demolished, with facilities relocated either to the National Cricket Academy (NCA) or the Cricket House.

PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi has highlighted the importance of these upgrades, emphasizing improved spectator facilities and unobstructed views. While currently in England for the fourth T20 International, Naqvi plans to discuss renovations for Karachi and Rawalpindi stadiums upon his return.
