Glenn Maxwell Under Investigation By Cricket Australia After Alcohol-Related Incident

Australian all-rounder Glenn Maxwell is currently under investigation by Cricket Australia (CA) after a night out took a troubling turn, resulting in his hospitalization involving an alcohol-related incident. The confirmation of the investigation surfaced on Monday, shedding light on the circumstances surrounding the incident.

“Calling the ambulance”

As per the circulating reports, last weekend, Glenn Maxwell was attending a Six and Out concert in Adelaide featuring the former cricketer Brett Lee when he was reportedly rushed to Royal Adelaide Hospital in an ambulance. Shane Lee and several other famous names from the cricket fraternity were also present at the concert.

On the matter, Cricket Australia released a statement saying that they are “seeking further information”. “Cricket Australia is aware of an incident involving Glenn Maxwell in Adelaide at the weekend and is seeking further information”,the statement read.

Though the 35-year-old cricketer was discharged from the hospital the same night, a report from a well-known publishing company claims that people close to Maxwell revealed that he had a ‘few beers in the sun’ and that the effects of dehydration ‘caught up with him’.

Glenn Maxwell is expected to return for the three-match T20I series against the West Indies, which will take place after the ODI rubber next month.
