Jamaat-e-Islami’s Hafiz Naeem ur Rehman has announced the launch of a “true women empowerment program” on this year’s Women’s Day i.e. 8th March 2023. The program aims to provide opportunities and resources for women to improve their economic, social, and educational status in society. This is in stark contrast to the vulgar slogans and messages of the Aurat March that often promote indecency and promote values contrary to Islam and Pakistani culture.

Empowering housewives and working women

The program is a welcome initiative that focuses on the real issues faced by women in Pakistan, such as poverty, illiteracy, and lack of opportunities. Women’s empowerment should be about providing them with the tools and resources they need to succeed in society, rather than promoting an ideology that encourages immoral and un-Islamic practices.

However, this progress should not come at the cost of our culture and values. The true empowerment of women can only be achieved by promoting Islamic values and principles that are in line with our cultural heritage.
