Kristiane Backer, a former German television presenter, has revealed that former Pakistani Premier Imran Khan played a significant role in her decision to convert to Islam. Backer, who was known for her work as an MTV Europe VJ in the 1990s, said that she was drawn towards Islam after meeting Imran Khan during a television interview a few years back.
“Imran Khan is a great leader and he has a vision”
Backer has since embraced Islam and has been an active advocate of the religion. She has written several books on the subject and is a popular speaker on Islamic topics. Speaking to the media recently, the journalist praised Imran Khan and called him a ‘visionary leader’.
“I wish Imran Khan will remain safe and that Pakistan should treat him with the respect that he is due. He is hugely popular. He is a great leader and he has a vision, not everything worked out the way he envisioned. But his heart is in the right place. He inspired me so much and I converted to Islam because of his teachings and inspiration. I can tell you one thing, have you seen a Sufi terrorist?”, she said.

Imran Khan’s advocacy for Islam and his efforts to promote peace and justice has won him many admirers across the world. His personal journey towards Islam has also been an inspiration to many, including Kristiane Backer.
