The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) finds itself embroiled in internal turmoil once again as party founder Imran Khan takes decisive action, removing Sher Afzal Marwat from pivotal roles within the party. Sources close to the matter disclosed that Sher Afzal Marwat, a vocal Member of the National Assembly (MNA), has been stripped of his position as the party’s focal person and involvement in vetting visitors to Imran Khan at Adiala Jail. This move follows a string of controversies surrounding Marwat, whose outspoken nature has ruffled feathers within PTI ranks. Recent tensions reached a boiling point during a contentious core committee meeting where Marwat faced criticism from multiple quarters, notably from Firdous Shamim Naqvi.

Critics within the party raised concerns over Marwat’s behavior, citing it as a catalyst for internal discord and deviation from the party’s established narratives. Despite Marwat’s protests of innocence, party leaders like Ali Mohammad Khan, Naeem Panjutha and Barrister Gohar intervened to quell the escalating tensions.

This latest episode of discord underscores longstanding divisions within PTI, exacerbated by Marwat’s history of controversial statements and actions. Most notably, a clash erupted between Marwat and Ali Muhammad Khan over alleged smear campaigns, further deepening the rifts within the party.

Imran Khan’s decision to sideline Marwat echoes previous directives, highlighting ongoing disagreements that have plagued PTI’s internal dynamics. As the party navigates these turbulent waters, the repercussions of Khan’s latest move reverberate through PTI’s political landscape.
