A delegation under the supervision of Foreign Minister for Iran Hussain Amir Abdullahian arrived earlier this week, in Islamabad. Cabinet for Foreign Ministries from both sides were part of the meeting. This visit follows the invitation sent earlier by MOFA.
What strained the friendly relationship?
Iran and Pakistan have historically maintained a brotherly relationship, and this camaraderie persists today. In order to uphold this mutual understanding, Pakistan has proposed a discussion regarding the tit-for-tat strikes that occurred earlier this month between the two nations.
Sources reveal that foreign ministers from both sides condemned the terrorism uplifting on the borders. The agenda was to expand cooperation, not to collaborate for terror, but to rebuild relations and resume them as previously in different trade sectors. Further, the plan is to deploy a liaison officer, reportedly in the Turbat and Zahidan states of Iran, to combat security and intelligence challenges.
The recent issue that brings both countries to the table is the attack earlier on Balochistan by the Iranian forces. According to Pakistan, the sovereignty of the state should not be compromised in any situation for which Pakistan took a significant stand against the attacks.

After the mutual understanding, development for security and intelligence will take place as the appointment of the liaison officers, one in Pakistan, Turbat and the other at the Iranian border, near Zahidan. Such development will result in solid communication and will help overcome the security challenges on both sides.
