Vice President Kamala Harris has achieved a remarkable fundraising milestone, collecting $540 million in just over a month since announcing her presidential bid. This record-setting sum includes $82 million raised during the Democratic National Convention (DNC) last week, reflecting a surge in support for her candidacy.

According to a memo from Harris’s campaign manager, Jen O’Malley Dillon, the campaign crossed the $500 million mark just before Harris’s acceptance speech and saw its highest fundraising hour immediately afterward. This impressive total marks the largest amount ever raised in such a short period for a presidential campaign.

The campaign also reported a significant boost in volunteer support, with nearly 200,000 shifts signed up during the convention week. Nearly a third of the recent donations came from first-time contributors, including a substantial number of young voters and women—key groups for Harris’s November election strategy.

Harris, who became a presidential candidate on July 21, is currently on a bus tour through Georgia with her running mate, Tim Walz, to build momentum in a crucial state for the upcoming election.
