Man Killed At Donald Trump Campaign Rally Identified As 50-Year-Old Former US Fire Chief

A man killed at a campaign rally for former President Donald Trump in Pennsylvania on Saturday has been identified as 50-year-old former fire chief Corey Comperatore, Governor Josh Shapiro announced Sunday.

Comperatore, an avid Trump supporter, attended the rally with his wife and two daughters and heroically shielded them when gunshots erupted in the crowd.

Two other Pennsylvania residents, David Dutch, 57, and James Copenhaver, 74, were also shot and are in stable condition, according to Pennsylvania State Police.

Governor Shapiro described Comperatore as a devoted family man and community pillar, praising his bravery. “Corey died a hero”, Shapiro said. President Joe Biden extended his condolences, noting Comperatore’s selfless act to protect his family.

The FBI identified the shooter as 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks, who the Secret Service killed on site. The motive remains unknown. President Biden condemned the violence, emphasizing the need for peaceful political discourse.
