Mohsin Naqvi Set to Take Over As President of ACC in 2025

Mohsin Naqvi, the current chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), is set to become the president of the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) for a two-year term. Reports indicate that Naqvi will assume the role in January 2025, succeeding Jay Shah.

The decision was made during the ACC meeting held in Bali in January 2024. Jay Shah, the current ACC president, received a one-year extension, with his tenure ending in January 2025.

India is scheduled to host the Men’s Asia Cup 2025 in the T20 format, while Bangladesh will host the 2027 edition in the ODI format. Both tournaments will feature six teams: Pakistan, India, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, and a sixth team to be determined through a qualifying event.

The official schedule for the ACC Men’s Asia Cup 2025 has not yet been finalized. However, the six-team tournament is expected to take place in September next year, following the monsoon season.
