Pakistani journalist Mubasher Lucman has leveled serious accusations against Babar Azam, the captain of the national cricket team. Lucman alleges that Azam engaged in match-fixing, accepting expensive gifts in exchange for manipulating game outcomes.

The allegations stem from Pakistan’s recent underwhelming performance in the T20 World Cup 2024. Lucman claims Azam received a luxury car, an Audi E-Tron, from a bookie as part of the scheme. The car was reportedly a gift from Azam’s brother, Faisal Azam, a social media influencer.

While some have expressed skepticism towards these claims, they have undoubtedly cast a shadow over Azam’s captaincy and reputation. It is important to note that these are just allegations, and Azam has not been formally charged with any wrongdoing.
