Pakistan’s cricket team captain Muhammad Rizwan has etched his name among wicketkeeping greats by equaling the record for the most catches in a One Day International (ODI) match. During the second ODI against Australia, Rizwan showcased his exceptional wicketkeeping skills by taking six catches, placing him alongside a prestigious group of legendary keepers.
This remarkable feat has previously been achieved by renowned wicketkeepers, including Australia’s Adam Gilchrist, South Africa’s Mark Boucher, England’s Alec Stewart, Matt Prior, Jos Buttler, Pakistan’s Sarfaraz Ahmed, South Africa’s Quinton de Kock, and Scotland’s Matthew Cross. Each of these players also managed six catches in a single ODI match, a rare milestone in cricket.

Rizwan’s record-equalling performance could have been historic had he managed a seventh catch when Australian batter Adam Zampa edged one his way. Nevertheless, his six catches showcased his agility and sharp reflexes behind the stumps, further elevating his reputation as one of the world’s premier wicketkeeper
