Naila Kiani, a Pakistani mountaineer with nerves of steel, has scaled new heights – literally. Last weekend, she became the first Pakistani woman to summit a staggering 11 mountains exceeding a jaw-dropping 8,000 meters.

The mighty Mount Makalu, the world’s fifth-highest peak, towers at a dizzying 8,485 meters was Naila Kiani’s latest quest. According to the Alpine Club of Pakistan, Kiani braved a challenging nighttime climb before reaching the summit at around 9:35 am Nepal time on Sunday.

This incredible feat wasn’t just about reaching the top – it solidified Kiani’s place in mountaineering history. She now holds the record as the fastest Pakistani, surpassing both male and female climbers, to summit 11 of these formidable 8,000-meter peaks, achieving this remarkable accomplishment in a record-breaking time of under three years.

Naila Kiani, the Dubai-based wonder woman is not only a mountaineer but also an amateur boxer and a proud mother of two daughters. She holds an aerospace engineering degree from the University of London and has a distinguished professional background, having previously served as an Associate Vice President at HSBC Bank.
