In a remarkable display of skill and determination, the Pakistan Army achieved a triumphant rescue mission to save foreign mountain climbers. They were stranded on the treacherous icy peaks of Concordia and Shigar.

On August 17, the military executed a daring operation, successfully recovering a team comprised of a local guide, a Polish climber, and four British mountaineers.

Perilously stuck amidst the unforgiving landscape, the climbers were in critical condition, their survival hanging by a thread. Undeterred, the Pakistan Army mobilized swiftly, deploying helicopters to swiftly reach the beleaguered mountaineers. The rescue team displayed unwavering commitment, defying the odds and prevailing over the challenging terrain.

The dramatic rescue unfolded in two parts: four British climbers were plucked from the snow-clad peaks of Concordia. In contrast, a Polish climber and the local guide were heroically retrieved from the dizzying heights of approximately 17,000 feet in Shigar. Among the rescued were British mountaineers George Hurst, David Coop, Stephen Ryan, Darrin Corbin, and Polish climber Adam. The foreign travelers were accompanied by local guide Muhammad Iqbal.
