Asif Bashir, a 32-year-old Pakistani, has been recognized by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his heroic actions during this year’s Hajj pilgrimage. Bashir, who works as a Database Supervisor at the Chief Minister Secretariat in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, saved the lives of 17 Indian pilgrims amid a deadly heatwave.
Bashir’s selfless efforts included providing water, administering life-saving medicines, and carrying fainted pilgrims over long distances, ultimately saving around 26 lives. His bravery and compassion have been lauded by Indian authorities and have garnered widespread admiration.
